Batik is a variety of tie and dye technique that is practiced in INDONESIA and the name also has an Indonesian origin. It is a kind of resist dye where the design is drawn and the areas, which are to be dyed with a different color, are waxed. When the cloth is dipped in color the areas that are waxed do not get colored and then a separate color is applied to the rest of the cloth.
