Most saris in the South India are incomplete without a zari, which is supposed to mark the status of the wearer. Usually Zari was woven in thin gold threads depicting that only those from the rich families wore them. However now zari is made with a lot of other materials also.
This South Cotton Sari comes in a lovely ochre yellow color that suits most Indian tones. The body of the sari is made to look very full and elegant with narrow double vertical lines. It is however the border that adds to the spirit of the sari. Set in a double color of green and red both of which form a contrast to the body of the sari. There are dancing peacocks woven in zari that make up the border. The Pallav is simple like most south India saris with vertical zari threads.
