This shawl has a blend of different wools and a traditional cum contemporary design to cater to the urban clientele. Barring the plain black ends on both sides, the field is divided into four equal parts. One square is the natural pashmina colour, the corresponding squares are a blend of both the colours. The entire field has a woven zigzag pattern and checks in black thread uplifting the base colour. On the ends of these checkered squares is the kalga pattern. The botehs in cream and rust colour stand back to back in pairs. If divided vertically into two, each side can look like a different shawl. The checks, the plains and the traditional botehs, together create a wonder. The botehs are woven at the edges with the help of tojis, which are wooden sticks used in the kani weave, around which the various dyed yarns are wrapped. The plain end border in black is woven with non-continuous weft threads in the interlocking technique. The ends are tied up in neat tassels.
This particular shawl will look good with just about any outfit, especially with a black wrap around skirt and a maroon blouse. Just a suggestion, though!
