This sari is an interfusion of cotton and silk which accounts for the sturdiness of the fabric. Not only that, the combination makes it suitable to be worn in humid weather also. It has a rich greenish-blue color which is considered auspicious and said to avert the evil eye. The design is indicative of the subtle aesthetic sensibilities of the weaver. Lively color, use of golden silk thread and a judicious inclusion of pallav, border and butis woven with adequate spacing are the outstanding features of this sari. The woven pattern has been influenced by traditions of using symbols and imagery from nature. The field interspersed with butis is separated from the border having stylized floral motifs by means of 'jhalar' (frill) which is the leaf-like decorative edging along the inner border. The pallav is densely patterned with plant motifs enclosed in ornamental arches. The border design is repeated judiciously on the end piece also.
The beauty of the sari together with the grace of senora will be enhanced tenfold if it is draped in a traditional manner with the endpiece falling in the front.
