Here, we can see Buddha standing in a frontal stance with his left foot turned outwards. He wears a lower garment, the edge of which fall over his left arm. His hands make the gesture of 'driving the wheel of the law'. To set the wheel in motion in Buddhist language means to 'preach the order of things'. Iconography seized upon this significant imagery. Two hands held in front of his chest, is the Dharmachakra mudra. This Dharmachakra mudra is characteristic of the first sermon of the Buddha.

A floral vine rises from the vase next to the Buddha's feet and ends crowning above his head. On the delicate branch sit a peacock and a peahen. The horizontal borders have various kinds of flowers in interesting shapes. The vertical borders have a vine scroll with a nimble frill on either side.
