Shri Varaha Dev is the Boar-faced incarnation of Lord Vishnu and one of the Dashavtars (Ten main incarnations of Lord Vishnu). He has been represented in a wall hanging in this craft.
It is mentioned in our Shastras that when Varaha Dev appeared in the cosmic ocean to save Goddess Earth, the contemporary water animals became so attracted to him that they got liberated from the cycle of death and rebirth. So, one should keep remembering him and this sculpture contains the attributes mentioned in our Ancient and Historical Puranas.
Besides the spiritual significance, we can see that this masterpiece has been beautifully carved out. His ears are very long, and adorned with the transcendental disc (Sudarshana Chakra). Above his Boar mouth, three parallel horizontal lines known as Trirekha can be seen; two little sharp teeth are there on both sides, an alluring necklace adds a spark to the craft and the South Indian-inspired crown of multiple layers with a leaf brooch in the centre is one of a kind.
