With a square configuration of seven receding mountains and Mount Meru at its center, this tiny Bronze Meru looks like a structural pyramid, echoing the traditional Asiatic image of the sacred city. In Hindu tradition, Mount Meru is also known as Sumeru. It is positioned in the Earth's center and crowned by Swarga, Indra's heaven.
