Kerala Man and Woman
The coastal region of Kerala is narrow strip of land between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. It is the smallest State of India. The Kerala woman’s daily attire is a two-piece white cotton sari with a coloured border called, ‘mund and neriyatha. It is worn with a blouse that matches the colour of the border. The mund or lower half of the sari is kept in place over a small mund tucked between the legs to form a pair of pyjamas.
Kerala women wear their in a low knot with flowers tucked into it. The ornaments they wear are made of gold.
The man to wear a white mund, with either a thin coloured border or a plain one, with a shirt called Jhabla or Kurta.
