This Pooja Ashtha Mangalam Thalli is a special plate made of brass with gold plating. It's a ritual object that places eight essential things on it and offers them to the deities. It's used in traditional marriage ceremonies and is decorated with carefully painted items. The items on the Thali are essential, and each one is placed for a particular reason. For example, you'll find eight objects on this plate, such as a Pancha Patra to offer the Panchamrita, pali or spoon attached with the Panchapatra to offer the same, a Lota to present the Gangajal, a Kindi or vessel with a spout, a Changavatta lamp (an oil-holding lamp with a single wick), a Nila Vilakku, and a Kavara Vilakku or a branching lamp. All these items attached to the Thali are an integral part of Poojas or ritual ceremonies.
