Legend holds that Andal was found as a baby in a garden of Tulsi (holy basil) by a devotee of Vishnu, who raised her as his daughter.
Andal is best known for her two works, Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Tirumozhi, which are filled with passionate hymns and prayers that reflect her longing for Lord Vishnu.
She is often depicted wearing traditional Tamil attire, adorned with flowers, symbolizing her connection to nature and her divine love. In temples, she is frequently shown alongside Lord Ranganatha, as she is considered his beloved. The worship of Goddess Andal is especially prominent during the month of Margazhi, where her hymns are sung in devotion, celebrating her life and teachings.
