This lamp made in brass has a circular floral base, with three small lamps at equidistance. From the inner end of the base arise the curvaceous necks of three swans the heads replete with the beauty and grace associated with swans. Resting on their delicate necks is another hemispheric lamp the main one, the oil in which can keep the lamp alight for quite some time. Since, it is a lamp used for religious ritual, the artisan has placed the image of Ganesha in the middle of the main lamp, high enough to be above the level of maximum oil. The image is in its most popular iconic form. Since Ganesha is worshipped at the beginning of any auspicious ceremony, his image adds an extra auspicious significance to the brass lamp.
