Assam Hindu Bride
One among the seven sister states in India’s North-Eastern region, Assam has rich but distinct cultural identity. The natives are tribals of mangloid race. The Assamese Hindu Bride is dressed in the local attire of the people. She wears a long, straight ankle-length skirt called mekhala, with a blouse and a upper half saree called chadar. At the time of the wedding, another upper half saree called riha is worn.
