Includes any tariffs and taxes

This brass Kindi is a traditional water-holding and pouring jug. These brass Kindis are used both domestically and ritualistically. The Kindi's belly is rounded and grows into a softly grooved neck that is lofty and shapely. The upturned pouring spout affixed to the belly of this cup is its most distinguishing characteristic. The spout is long and tapered in shape. A flared foot ring serves as the stand to balance the relatively round pot. This Kindi is a highly essential ceremonial item that Sadhus frequently carries on excursions.

The design of this pouring jug is a testament to centuries of craftsmanship. Its rounded, bulbous body provides a comfortable grip, while the gracefully curved spout allows for precise and controlled pouring. The open top is perfectly shaped to receive offerings of water, milk, or other sacred liquids, channeling them with a smooth, steady stream. This piece is ideal for a variety of Hindu rituals, from daily prayers to special festivals, where the offering of libations is a central act of devotion.

Echoes of Ancient Lore

In Hindu mythology, water is a powerful symbol of purity, life, and creation. Rivers like the Ganges are considered sacred, personified as goddesses and believed to possess divine cleansing properties. Vessels used to hold and pour such sacred waters are therefore imbued with their own spiritual resonance. This brass jug can be seen as a representation of the celestial rivers, a tool to bring the purifying essence of the divine into your home. Imagine the ancient rishis and yogis using similar vessels in their meditations, their every action a prayer. This pouring jug connects you to that lineage, allowing you to perform your own rituals with authenticity and grace. The use of brass itself carries cultural weight. Brass has been used in India for millennia, prized for its durability, its ability to conduct heat, and its aesthetically pleasing golden hue, which is often associated with prosperity and auspiciousness. It is considered a sattvic material, promoting purity and harmony. In many homes, brass items are passed down through generations, becoming cherished heirlooms that carry the blessings of ancestors.

A Sacred Addition to Your Altar

This brass pouring jug is a versatile addition to any altar or puja room. Its compact size makes it suitable for even the smallest spaces, while its enduring beauty ensures it will be a focal point of reverence. Use it to offer water to deities during abhishek (ritual bathing), to pour ghee for lamps, or to present flowers and other offerings. Beyond its ritualistic uses, it also serves as a beautiful decorative object, its classic form and radiant finish adding a touch of sophistication to your home. It’s a piece that invites contemplation and a deeper connection to the spiritual traditions that have shaped countless lives.
