Petal-like eyelids, lips lighting up the face with a smile, arched eyebrows and the well formed beautiful nose, all point to the hands of a master sculptor.

The oversized halo behind Buddha’s otherwise human face is there to remind us of his divinity. The halo is made of three concentric bands, the outermost showing a stringed rosary while the remaining two layers are inscribed with differently shaped lotus petals.

Buddha’s monastic robe clings to his body like a second skin with neat folds at the ends. The garment flows down and collects at his feet, like ripples of bliss paying homage to the Buddha. This is another expression of the artist’s skill and devotion.

The body is well-proportioned, the hands slim and long - both marks of a beautiful body. The petals on the two levels of the lotus base are exactly aligned with the lower one beginning where the upper one ends.
