The image of Lakshmi-Narasimha, where power and beauty come together, is a representation of cosmic harmony.
In this Panchaloha statue, the violent Lord Narasimha takes on a Saumya (benevolent) form while his wife Devi Lakshmi sits gracefully on his lap, balancing, holding a lotus flower as delicate as herself.
Narasimha, who is adorned with a Kiritamukuta crown, a U-shaped Vaishnava tilak, sacred thread, and Shankha and Chakra, appeals to the eye with his gaping mouth framed by stylistically curled mane and the sacred triangle-shaped Srivatsa symbol on his right chest.
The ancient ideal of royal splendor is represented by the statue of Lakshmi-Narasimha, found in Southern Vaishnava temples, Lakshmi-Narasimha is sculpted in a rounded manner, allowing the viewer the immerse in the bewildering glory of Purusha-Prakriti, the supreme male and female.
