This designer brass plate is a Pooja Thal. It is an item used in traditional Indian temples and personal worship spaces to serve food to the deities. Other ceremonial requirements like kumkum, uncooked rice, and Chandan paste are usually stored in them. To improve the aesthetic appeal of an event, these plates are also adorned with flowers and some diyas. It's made of brass, a long-lasting and corrosion-resistant metal alloy. The flat circular shape of the Thali is carved with digital or traditional patterns of dancing peacocks around a central peacock image. Some thalis are etched by hand, while others are engraved by machine. In India, these multi-purpose Thalis are considered essential components of ceremonies.
