With an aura of serene repose, Lord Ganesha reclines in a state of tranquil meditation, his form radiating an aura of divine relaxation. His countenance, a symphony of grace and contentment, resonates with the wisdom of ages, offering a respite from the demands of the world and an invitation to embark on an inner journey. The intricate detailing and masterful artistry of this sculpture capture the essence of Lord Ganesha's relaxed presence. Every line speaks of a deity who embodies the balance between power and tranquillity, reminding us that even amidst life's challenges, a state of calm introspection can be attained.
Here we see Ganesha relaxing against a bolster, seated in no particular asana. The elephant head is adorned with a small crown with fetters and strings hanging down his forehead. Some of his 'jatas' (hair) are knotted atop his head like those of his father, Shiva, and the rest is braided at the back. His long trunk hangs straight and turns towards the right. Jewellery adorns his neck, arms and feet. The uttareya (the scarf) casually covers his upper arms to lie on the bolster he is resting on. The lower garment has an intricate pattern engraved on it. It clearly shows that after the image was casted, the artisan did some delicate work with hand tools.
The relaxing Ganesha is placed on an oval throne whose base is marked with large lotus petals. The entire sculpture is painted in green, which due to its lack luster finish, gives it an appearance of an age-old idol, passed down several generations.
