“Madhuradipate Akhilam Madhuram”
“The Lord of All Things Swwe is the Sweetest One in the Entire Universe”
Krishna is unlike any other God. And the nectar of his divine Lilas seems to be flowing from every part of this otherworldly bronze sculpture.
The charming Tribhanga Murari wears a long Vaishnava crown, with Mor-Pankha, gemmed necklace, silk garments, ornate waist jewelry, Makarakrita Kundala (an emblem of Vishnu’s forms), with Mayura perched on his shoulders, as if offering their iridescent feathers as the Skandhabhushana (shoulder ornament) for Kanha.
Krishna’s splendor surpasses that of the Lord of Gods, Indra, an idea highlighted by the mighty elephants, Yali and Makara forming his aureole- the majestic animals made miniscule in front of the cosmic aura of Brija’s beloved flute players.
