Siddhartha, well known as Buddha (Enlightened One) has been depicted in this sculpture in “Dhyana Mudra”. The right hand’s back rests on the other’s outstretched palm in the meditation mudra, and the tips of the thumbs are just touching. The top hand of the Buddha symbolises enlightenment while the bottom hand symbolises the world of appearances. Thus, the mudra as a whole suggests the supremacy of the enlightened mind.
