Blue in colour and tranquil in appearance, Bhiashjyaguru, more commonly known as the Medicine Budhha is a healing form of Buddha, worshipped in Mahayana Buddhism. In this brass statue Medicine Buddha holds a small, glazed pot filled with nectar in his left hand, and in his right hand, the stem of Aruna fruit. Both the nectar and Aruna fruits are believed to have magical healing properties. The great master wears monastic robes which create pleasing folds as they wrap his body. Medicine Buddha is revered for healing not only one's body but also the mind. When a person sets on his path to Nirvana, he constantly sufferers strains of the mind and body. Buddha's blessings remove all physical and mental ailments present in an individual, making his body and mind fit to achieve Nirvana.
