Goddess Meenakshi, a luminous embodiment of divine femininity, is the tutelary deity of Madurai. Adorned in regal attire, Goddess Meenakshi captivates worshippers with her thousand-petaled lotus-shaped eyes, emanating wisdom and compassion. Meenakshi, meaning “fish-eyed”, symbolises perceptiveness and vigilance. As the consort of Sundareshvara (a form of Lord Shiva), She manifests as the cosmic queen, ruling with benevolence and strength. She is accompanied by a parrot, symbolising knowledge of all the 64 arts. It is said that worshipping her bestows devotees with profound tranquillity, unwavering courage, success and prosperity.

Crafted in Panchaloha bronze from “Swamimalai” using the ancient “Madhuchista Vidhana (Lost-Wax) technique”, this artwork embodies the eternal grace that guides and nurtures the souls of devotees.
