Thooku Vilakku, a hanging or suspension light, is the name given to this brass lamp. These are usually found hanging on the verandas of Kerala households and are an important component of ceremonial décor. The brass lights are normally five wicks and are hanging from the ceiling with a hook. Depending on the scenario, the number of wicks can be adjusted in the shape of layers. The five wicks are inspired by the Bhadradeepams and pay homage to the Panchabhootas, or five components employed in the construction of the universe. This lamp is amazing, with all of these different components, and is great for illuminating a ceremonial scene.
