Sri Radha in Hinduism is the Aadya-shakti or prime power of the Vaishnava universe, ruling the world alongside her beloved and the preserver Vishnu’s incarnation, Sri Krishna. She is revered by the devotees of Krishna in order to gain His blessings. It is believed that the epitome of love and devotion- Radha, is the path to reaching Golok- the abode of Krishna.
Radha Ji in this small brass idol stands on a blossoming lotus flower, placed on a short platform. A royal crown adorns her head, along with a number of ornaments befitting for a queen. Her dhoti is designed symmetrically, with its edgings framing her figure on both sides beautifully. In her one hand is a lotus- a symbol of beauty and purity, while her other hand is raised in the Abhaya mudra (gesture of fearlessness).
