Adorned with jewels and holding a Veena in her hands, the symbol of knowledge, Goddess Saraswati was lovingly crafted by devoted hands. Cast in bronze, she sits on an upturned lotus, a symbol of knowledge and truth. The hands that aren't holding the melodious instrument hold a book and a rosary. Brahma—the creator in the trinity of the gods who are responsible for this cosmos—felt baffled after creating this universe. He felt that there was no order in the chaos he had created and realised that he needed someone to help him organise better.
So, as a physical manifestation of knowledge and order, Goddess Saraswati sprang out from his head. She directed him about how the cosmos needed to be handled. She was thus responsible for the creation of the sun, the moon, and the stars. The turn of seasons and tides was discovered by Saraswati. She became the source of wisdom for Brahma and his creations alike. Those who venerate her do so in hopes of attaining knowledge that should be accessible to everyone. She is the goddess of spring times, which brings new beginnings and understanding of the world and it's mysterious ways. In this idol made in her image, she looks truly divine.
