Khodiyar Mata (khodi-limped) is a folk goddess revered in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Born as the daughter in the house of her devotee Mamaniya Gadhavi, Khodiyar Mata got her name from the legend that she visited the Nagaloka to bring Amrita for curing her sibling, and got injured on her way back. Her benevolence and self-sacrifice immortalized her as a divine mother, who is envisioned by her Bhaktas with a trident and adorned with the traditional attire of the region. She is accompanied by a crocodile which is her mount or Vahana.
Khodiyar Mata is the Hindu goddess who appeared in the story of Mamaniya Gadhvi in about 700 AD. Her Temple is located in Bhavnagar, Gujarat
