Goddess Lakshmi in a potent four-armed form, with her primary hands in the Abhaya and Varada mudra to nurture her devotees and lotuses in her secondary hands representing the origin of life and blossoming of inner consciousness, this brass Sri Lakshmi statue is a divine representation of the great mother goddess, as the progenitor and nurturer of Srishti (creation). Devi Lakshmi is wearing a regal crown, ornate jewelry, and a traditional sari, embellished with incised lines to mark the fabric folds. She is enthroned on a fully blossomed lotus whose petals are visible underneath her regal pose known as Maharajalilasana. Devi’s facial features are revealed in the statue by the use of measured incised lines, which combine to give the goddess a pleasant and divine expression.
