This Garuda Deepam is blessed with the image of Garuda, the mighty Vahana or mount of Lord Vishnu placed above a votive lamp. These lamps are typically constructed for Vahana aarti where it is believed that placing the image of the Vahana along with the lamp brings out a picture of the devotee in the form of the Vahana offering prayers to the almighty. The lamp has a traditional brown color. The oil basin is leaf-shaped and is placed on one hand of Garuda. The upper portion of the body of Garuda is of a human with wings and the lower portion that makes the handle is a lion's body. There is also a Yali at the front bottom portion of the lamp supporting the Garuda. This lamp is an auspicious ritual object that might help to bring the blessings of Lord Vishnu.
