The Charpai or Charpoy, also known as Khaat, is an Indian sleeping cot that also serves as a daybed. This brass Charpai, which is used for sleeping deities in personal worship sites, is an identical replica of the Indian cot. The precise weaving of the ropes is also demonstrated here. Bal Krishna devotees frequently cover this brass Charpai with little cotton beds and allow the deity to repose. These little Charpais have both decorative and ritualistic purposes.
