A gentle cow stands amidst luxuriant pastures while a little one suckles on her. She has all the innocence and grace of the bovine being, widely revered as she is by Hindus all over the world.
It is on the strength of her back that the Sarasvati River Valley civilisation had flourished centuries ago, and to this day the cow is venerated as a mother - selfless, life-giving, infinitely nourishing - across the subcontinent.

She is a strong, young mother as could be deduced from the silhouette of her sturdy musculature. Her back is overlain with a gorgeous piece of fabric, that block of sculpture set apart by richly coloured bits of inlay. Across her brow is engraved a band of gold and an ornate tilaka. The calf continues to blissfully draw nourishment from its mother as it stands on its little legs, each of which is sculpted with admirable detail and precision. The pedestal on which the composition stands features a matching style of gold-rimmed inlay.
