Vishnu happens to be one of the most prominent brahmanical Hindu gods with numerous iconic manifestations and widespread artistic representations deifying him. Though his sthanaka (standing) images are fewer than the shayana (lying) ones, but they are stately.
In this representation, looks like a tall, handsome youth, dressed in finery and exquisite jewellery. His three arms hold characteristic emblems discus, conch and mace. The lotus the discus (chakra) represents the air, the conch (shankha) the skies and mace (gada) represents light. Vishnu is, and aptly looks like the colossal lord of exquisite beauty and exquisitely moulded.
