"You dance with delight when it rains." Even the gods like watching your dance without blinking their eyes. Rambha, the celestial dancer, was forced to abandon her arrogance after witnessing your lovely dance.” -Kalidasa, Mayura Doota
This bronze lamp is a tribute to the magnificently gorgeous bird, Peacock is a shining testament to our country's superb lamp workmanship. During festivals, this lamp is often used to decorate temples and personal worship areas. It comes with an intricate pedestal called locally "kandam," an oil well with five or seven wicks known as "Thanguli," and a crown known as "Prabhai." The lamp's stand is balanced by a base with a raised disc-like construction and three ornamented stands. The lamp's body is adorned with the auspicious emblems of coiling vines. Replaceable components are widely used in columnar lights, which are held together by bolts. It is thought that lighting these lamps during festivals raises the vitality of an area and attracts supernatural favors.
