Devi Lakshmi is Hinduism’s presiding deity over wealth and resources. She is indispensable to Her husband, Lord Vishnu, whose function is to preserve the divine order of things. As such, She is the harbinger of prosperity and affluence, and one of the most widely revered entities of Hindu dharma.
The Lakshmi murti that you see on this page is a large-sized granite composition. Lakshmi Mata is seated in ardhapadmasana on a gigantic lotus-shaped throne. The chaturbhujadharini’s posterior hands bear a lotus bud each, which is indicative of Her equanimous lotus-like nature. A tall crown on Her head, and a brow dripping with omniscience.
The face and figure of Goddess Lakshmi are unspeakably beauteous. The sculptor has done a remarkably skilful job in conveying it in granite. The result is a characteristic bitone sculpture that would look great in your lawn or garden under natural light conditions. The tough medium would also withstand some degree of weather extremities without sustaining any damage to the aesthetic.
