31" Large Shiva Family Seated on Kirtimukha Throne | Bronze Sculpture

$8500

Embracing the Universe’s Shubha or auspiciousness as Ganesha, Gyana or wisdom as Murugan, and origin as Jagadamba Parvati, Shiva in this beautiful bronze composition takes the regal throne as Mahadeva- the supreme god.

Shiva-Parivar is the visual depiction of universal bliss and order, represented by the individual deities coming together to bless the devotees with all human fulfillment.

Adorned with an elaborate Jatamukuta (crown of tresses) Makara-kundala, Yajnopavita, in his Pashupati roopa, Shiva sits in Lalitasana pose, his lap becoming the seat of Uma-Parvati, the divine mother, cradling Skanda in her lap.

Sri Ganesha as Ekdanta (single-tusked) sits pleasantly on Shiva’s leg.

This vision of supreme bliss is defied by the Kirtimukha prabhavali emerging from the mouth of roaring Makara, a mythical animal that symbolizes the eternal movement of time through chaos and creation. Through the animate eyes, inward smile, naturalistic depiction of limbs, and a well-balanced imagery in which each component complements the other, this Panchaloha statue is a worthy representative of the ancient art of Swamimalai, which makes it possible to see Shiva-Loka (the abode of Shiva) on earth.
