Sculpting the icons of goddess Saraswati on the walls of the sanctums they constructed, ancient Shilpis gave an ode to the great mother goddess, the source of their inspiration and skills. Inspired by the same temple art, this wooden statue recreates the aura of Devi Saraswati. A splendor radiates from the secondary elements of the statute- the Kirtimukha aureole, lotus pedestal, and pillars between the two.
Devi Saraswati is Padmasana, sitting on a Padma or lotus throne, adorned in a queenly manner. The Veena she carries has the symbol of Makara on its end, which represents divinity and royalty in Indian art. Embellished with hints of colors and carved with marvelous details, this wooden artwork brims with the essence of the goddess of wisdom.
