Krishna, the supreme personality of gods and he is the cause of all causes and the ocean of bliss. He gives pleasure to the cows and protects them, for which He is also known as ‘Govinda’. The enchanting features of Krishna are very satisfying for all the residents of Vrindavan. Here, the ever-youthful Krishna is standing on a raised platform with small metallic bells strung to its edges accentuating the figurine of Krishna. His left leg is crossed over the right leg at the ankle that forms the beautiful three-fold bending form called ‘Tribhanga’.
He is adorned in a simple pleated dhoti down to the ankles, a dupatta with embroidered borders worn over the elbows, a wide cummerbund embellished around his perfectly curved waist, head decked with a headband embellished in gemstones, serpentine hair falling on his shoulders whilst he adorns garland made of several forest flowers.
A marble-white cow and an eclipse peacock can be seen accompanying the all-attractive Supreme Lord. Look at the blooming eyes and serine smile on his moonlike face. His complexion is as dark as clouds filled with rainwater yet his beauty excels that of thousands of cupids. Krishna freely moves as a cowherd boy in Vrindavan, and when he plays his flute, all the cows and other animals, although engaged in eating, simply take a morsel of food in their mouths and stop chewing and experience ecstasy as we can see here.
How to clean and maintain marble statues?
Marble has been a preferred material for sculptors and artists for more than a thousand years. It is a rock that undergoes metamorphism which causes recrystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains. Marble comes in various colors, designs, and dimensions. Pure white marble is the most preferred type of marble for making sculptures and statues since time immemorial. White marble is especially used for sculpting stone monumental sculptures since ancient times. The natural shine and luster of the carbonate crystals of white marble give a lavish and beautiful appearance to the statue.
Marble stone statues are highly durable and can even withstand harsh weather conditions without getting corroded, therefore, they can be kept indoors or outdoors without getting damaged or weathered. Although these statues can last for many decades, their regular care and cleaning are essential to increase their longevity and beautiful appearance.
Marble statues need periodical cleaning to maintain their flawless look. However, harsh and deep cleaning can result in making the statue look dull. If your marble statue is withering away, it is recommended to take the help of a professional cleaner. Marble is a delicate material and therefore needs proper care.
