24" Shri Ram Darbar Idol Set | Madhuchista Vidhana (Lost-Wax) | Panchaloha Bronze from Swamimalai

$9375

This rare masterpiece bronze is a reproduction of the ancient Chola period bronze collection of Rama Darbar, where the regalia and divinity of Ayhodhyapati have been revealed through the finesse of Swamimalai artists.

Following the Hindu texts on iconography, the Rama Darbar bronze set was created for the royal collection, for the kings and their families who worshipped Rama to mirror his illustrious life.

Rama as Kodanda-pani (holding Kodanda bow in his hand), is the tallest icon in the collection, standing in a graceful and regal Tribhanga pose.

Next to him is Lakshman, the devout brother and warrior, assuming a similar stance, with a calm and firm expression.

Devi Sita accompanies Rama, appearing as Sri-Lakshmi, adorned with jewels and her unique hairdo, poised with one hand dangling in Lolahastha mudra and the other raised in Katakahastha, for offering a flower to her Lord. Hanuman has the most animated posture, his hand gestures conveying a conversation taking place, representing the monkey god as the advisor and confidant of Raja Rama.
