The lord Buddha Dharmachakra mudra is sacred hand gesture that symbolizes the teaching of the dharma, or the path to enlightenment. In this mudra, the index finger and the thumb of both hands touch each other to form a circle, representing the wheel of dharma, while the remaining fingers are extended outward.
This mudra is associated with the first sermon delivered by Lord Buddha, known as the “Turning of the wheel of Dharma,” in which he expounded the four noble truths and the eightfold path to his first five disciples. It signifies the commencement of Buddha’s teachings and the propagation of the path to libration from suffering.
