A typical South Indian light that may be found in houses and temples is the Kuthu Vilakku, also known as the Peacock Oil lamp. It is made of brass and has five wicks: one for the body, mind, intellect, ego, and soul aspects of human life. The legendary Annam (peacock) is the epitome of grace and dexterity. This lamp has a central oil basin with five wicks and a columnar form. A disc serves as the bottom support for the entire construction. This lamp represents self-illumination and harmony, spiritual enlightenment, and the manifestation of divine qualities in one's life. It also symbolizes these things thanks to its wonderful and sturdy stand.
