A beautiful master, Shiva as Veenadhara is an aspect of his Dakshinamurty Roopa, in which he is the primordial teacher or Guru.
Wearing his hair in a long Jatamukuta adorned by the crescent moon, Ganga, and Makara emblem, Shiva wears a short dhoti, jewelry, and Yajnopavita- each element crafted with finesse to enhance the natural appeal of Veenadhara’s poise.
Shiva’s primary hands are extended in an elegant gesture- of holding the Veena, while his primary hands carry the goad and Pashu (deer emblem) that symbolize restraint.
Instilling creativity with the tunes of his lute and guarding the soul or Pashu in the right direction with the goad, Veenadhara Shiva is the ideal teacher, in whose presence no worldly or spiritual goal remains unattainable. On a two-tiered lotus pedestal, the statue of Veenadhara brims with a divine liveliness, through the interactive pose of Shiva and his gentle smile, which draws the onlooker towards the supreme teacher.
