A striking bitone Nataraja to bring life and auspiciousness to the devotee’s personal and/or professional space. He dances on the back of the avidya-roopi Apasmara (personification of ignorance), a single foot enough to keep the tamasic (inertia-ridden) creature in check. The other leg is raised high in the air, right below the gajahasta-abhaya mudra of the anterior hands. The posterior arms, bearing the usual implements, are opened out in conjunction with His ample, snake-like tresses. The unmistakable silhouette of the Nataraja instills a certain emotion upon the psyche of the truly devoted.
The long, lithe dancing physique of the Lord is contained within a life-sized ring of flames. It emerges from the mouths of the twin mythical creatures conjoined to the lotus-shaped plinth. The complexion of the body of Nataraja is in two metallic variations: a deep, glistening black and a textured gold colour. Each of them are strategically superimposed with silver which makes for the bitone.
