Vishnu also known as Narayana and Hari, is one of the principal deities in Hinduism. In the beautiful sculpture Vishnu is depicted in a sitting position with Goddess Lakshmi in his lap. Sitting on a pedestal podium attached with a floral Kirtimukha throne (face of glory), Lord Vishnu is sitting in Abhaya Mudra (fear not gesture), holding a conch shell in his left hand and a discus in his right hand, symbolising the cycle of existence and Dharma. Adorned in regal attire, Lord Vishnu is dressed with Vaijayanti, anklets, bracelets and a crown. While Goddess Lakshmi is carrying a lotus in her right hand, symbolising knowledge, self-realisation, and liberation.
