In Vaishnavism tradition, Lord Perumal, an embodiment of Lord Vishnu, is considered as the supreme God. Lord Perumal is traditionally the deity associated with the forests. Perumal, a union of “Perum” meaning Great and “al” denoting the divine, emerges as the “great god”, showering blessings on devoted souls. Adorned in regal attire, Lord Perumal stands on a lotus pedestal, symbolising purity and transcendence. Carrying the powerful Sudarshan Chakra and Shankha, He signifies his role as the sustainer and preserver of the Universe.
Kaumodaki (Mace) in his hand represents his role as the destroyer of all opponents. This artwork, crafted in Panchaloha bronze from “Swamimalai” using the ancient “Madhuchista Vidhana (Lost-Wax) technique”, embodies grace and blessings, emphasising the omnipresent love that connects the Almighty with those who earnestly seek his divine embrace.
