The Garuda Purana describes Lord Vishnu as Neela Megha Shyama (as dark blue as the rain-bearing cloud) - infinite, formless, and all-pervasive. Lord Vishnu is the limitless brilliance of the universe that preserves the Dharma. Standing on his hourglass plinth, shelled with lotus petals - He wears a high Karanda Mukuta and is decked with jewels across his body.
On his upper chest, right below the neck chains is the Srivasta symbol of his consort - Devi Lakshmi, and his rear arms are seen holding Sudarshana Chakra and Panchajayna. One of his proper faces the devotees in Abhaya Mudra of preservation and the other hand rests on his thigh, where the index and fifth finger are slightly above the fingers in between. Made in Panchaloha, this idol is about the Omnipotence of the sacred.
