A two-lamp stand that sounds minimalistic, but is an ornate composition. The peacock lamp that you see on this page comprises two large dias or lamps separated by a thick section of vine, which connects the base of one with the edge of the other. A peacock at the zenith and a short stem at the base. On top of this stem is a floral disk. The stem itself features a layered base, with another, much more luxuriant floral disk underneath it. Lateral to the stem flourishes a thin sprig of vine, which adds balance to the composition.
The two dias in this lamp stand are wide-mouthed and designed to burn for long hours. Traditionally, in the Indian home, a lamp is lit just in time for sunset. It is an indication of the triumph of vidya-roopi light over avidya-roopi darkness. With the light from both dias bouncing off the pure bronze of its body, it is sure to beautify your entire home from the corner where you place it.
