Nataraja stands as one of the most elevated embodiments of Lord Shiva, epitomizing his roles in shaping the world – creation, preservation, and eventual destruction. In his divine dance, Nataraja gracefully swirls within a circular enclosure of flames known as the "prabha mandala." This fiery circle symbolizes the cosmic blaze, which, according to Hindu cosmology, both engenders and engulfs the universe in an eternal cycle of existence. Within these flames lie the entire spectrum of human experiences, from adversities and perils to warmth, illumination, and bliss. The fiery arch springs forth from two mythical aquatic creatures called makara, stationed at either end.
