A strotra (hymn) devoted to Lord Kartikeya is mentioned in the Tantric work Rudrayamala. The Pragya Vardhana Strotra is a list of Kartikeya's names that he disclosed to sages and knowledgeable ascetics. Kumara Kartikeya, the son of Shiva and Parvati, is well known for the prophecy that stated before his birth that his primary goal would be the destruction of Tarakasur, yet he is so much more than a warrior.
