As the crown prince of Buddha, Vajrasattva in this gilded copper Nepalese statue wears pristinely patterned attire, traditional ornaments, and an elaborate hairdo. The Vajra and bell cradled in Vajrasattva’s delicate hands are a coming together of wisdom and compassion, the two primary virtues in Buddhism, required in order to walk the path of Dhamma. The statue is exquisitely sculpted, with polished work visible on the dhoti and the lotus throne, on which potent Buddhist symbols such as Dhammachakra with deer and dragons- associated with Enlightenment, are inscribed.
