Green Tara is a female Buddha and arguably the most popular female in the Buddhist pantheon. She has two arms and wears a golden crown representing spiritual wealth. Green Tara made with copper and gold wears all kinds of bodhisattva ornaments studded with jewels. Tara sits on a throne in Lalita's attitude. With a serene expression, her left-hand shows the gesture of refuge vows and her right hand the varada mudra as she is quick to answer the petitions of those who seek her aid. Goddess Tara is known as the great liberator of eight kinds of danger or fears. The cultivation of Green Tara sadhana will eliminate all demoniac and karmic obstacles, eradicate disaster and lengthen one’s life span.
