त्रैलोक्ये यानि तीर्थानि वासुदेवस्य च आज्ञया ।शङ्खे तिष्ठन्ति विप्रेन्द्र तस्माच्छङ्खं प्रपूजयेत् ॥ Whatever Tirthas (Sacred Waters of Pilgrimages) exist in the Three Worlds, by Vasudeva's order, they live inside the Shankha (Conch), O finest of wise men; so Shankha is to be worshipped.
As mentioned in sacred texts, the Shankha or Panchajanya hold the power of sound that can create as well as destroy. This bronze wall mount lamp in Hoysala style, with a central motif of the Panchajanya, is a tribute to this unbound energy of the Sankha. This lamp features a big oil basin and a single wick. It also has a single design on the bottom. Worshippers of Lord Vishnu believe that igniting this lamp would produce heavenly energy, attracting the Lord's attention and benefits.
