The Divtis knew and Mashals or Masbals are the temple torches that are lit during festivals and ritual theatre performances. The construction of these lamps is very simple with the main body of the lamp being made of brass or copper and in container form with an elongated handle. There is a stigma (central stem of a flower) like a rod in the middle for the cloth to be wrapped and burnt. The rod would be kept long to build a log flame that would enlighten the path or a bigger area. This kind of lamp has a long history and can be found in war stories from the past. Regularly used as pathfinders during night excursions, these lamps are immortal witnesses of the numerous adventures held under the guidance of the light they emit.
